The ORIGINAL Club that brought "Ninja Warrior" / Obstacle Course Race (OCR)  training and competition to Sarnia-Lambton.

ABOUT US:

Our Not-For-Profit Club has been helping athletes of all ages develop since 2020.   Our extensive experience in the Sport of Ninja/OCR cannot be matched.  We have 8 active Young Adult & Adult Ninja Warrior / OCR competitors on our coaching staff.  To us Ninja/OCR is a sport first and has so much more to offer participants than just "playtime".  In order for this sport to grow it needs knowledgeable and dedicated individuals at the helm to make this happen and this is where our Club thrives!

We are home to two of the TOP Adult Ninja athletes in the World Ninja League.  Coach David who placed 4th Overall in the Adult Male Division (18 years+) of the 2024 World Ninja League Championships and Coach Tammie who placed 2nd Overall in the Masters' Female Division of the 2024 World Ninja League Championships!!!

Our Club is currently headed by Coach Scott.  Coach Scott is one of the pioneer's of Ninja & OCR in Canada having established one of Canada's first Ninja Gyms in 2017.  He was inspired to do this after watching an early episode of the now very popular "American Ninja Warrior" and seeing how this "free-flowing" and "ever changing" style of athletic competition could benefit his eldest son who was at the time very heavy into gymnastics.   Coach Scott is a graduate of Lambton College's Sports & Recreation program having maintained a 4.0/4.0 GPA over his entire 3-year college career earning him the Dean's Honour Award.  Since then, Coach Scott has completed numerous additional qualifications including Ninja Floor Coach Certification (WNL), Level 1 NinjaSport Certification (NZ), Youth Fitness Specialist Certification (IYCA), Youth Fitness Assessment Certification (IYCA), Youth Mental Toughness Endorsement (IYCA), etc.  Coach Scott currently works full-time for a local home improvement retailer on top of all his commitments to the Club.

OUR CLUB'S MISSION IS:

1) To promote and grow the sport of Ninja / Obstacle Course Racing (OCR)

2) To use Ninja / OCR as a tool to help trainees develop overall athleticism

3) To promote the Multi-Sport Long Term Athletic Development (LTAD) training philosophy and encourage all our athletes to participate in a variety of sports and pursuits beyond Ninja / OCR

4) To help athletes build mental toughness through Ninja / OCR training and competition

5) To help those who wish to seriously pursue Ninja / OCR as a sport have success and achieve the goals that they have set out for themselves.

WE AIM TO HELP DEVELOP ATHLETES, NOT PLAYERS

What is Obstacle Course Racing (OCR)?

Obstacle course racing (OCR) is a sport in which a competitortraveling on foot, must overcome various physical challenges in the form of obstacles. Races vary in length from courses with obstacles close together to events of several kilometers.

The Sport of OCR is governed by World Obstacle (Fédération Internationale de Sport d’Obstacles - FISO), based in Lausanne, Switzerland.  World Obstacle is a non-profit and member-based sporting organization and the sole world governing body for Obstacle Course Racing.  As of 2022, World Obstacle had national member federations in 115 countries in four continental regions (Africa, Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe), the largest number being in Europe.  World Obstacle applied for membership of Global Association of International Sport Federations (GAISF)in 2017, with a goal of having obstacle course racing and related disciplines recognized as an international sport by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

What is Ninja Warrior?

The sport discipline of Ninja (modeled after the Japanese television series Sasuke and international adaptations such as American Ninja Warrior) and OCR became self-governing sub-sports of World Obstacle in 2020 in a model similar to Aquatics.

Albeit fitting the definition of OCR, Ninja is a much more technical, faster and explosive version of the sport.  Using Athletics as a comparison, traditional OCR athletes would be similar to those that run the 3K Steeplechase, whereas Ninja athletes would be comparable to a 110m Hurdler.
